David S. Blitzer is the Founder and Managing Partner of Harris Blitzer Sports & Entertainment (HBSE), which includes the New Jersey Devils (National Hockey League), Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey, the Philadelphia 76ers (National Basketball Association), Joe Gibbs Racing (NASCAR), and Crystal Palace F.C. (English Premier League).
David has a diverse portfolio of additional sports and entertainment properties. He is a minority owner of the Cleveland Guardians (Major League Baseball), the Washington Commanders (National Football League), an investor in both Real Salt Lake (Major League Soccer) and the Utah Royals (National Women’s Soccer League), and a partner in the Jupiter Links Golf Club Team (Tech Golf League) led by Tiger Woods. Additionally, David owns stakes in FC Augsburg of the Bundesliga, Brondby IF of the Danish Superliga and Estoril Praia of Liga Portugal amongst other international soccer properties. He is also the co-founder of Unrivaled Sports, which oversees youth sports properties across the USA.
David is the Chairman of Blackstone’s Tactical Opportunities group (Tac Opps), and a member of the firm’s Management and Operating Committees. Prior to launching Tac Opps, David helped establish and lead Blackstone’s European private equity business after originally joining the firm in 1991.
David and his wife Allison reside in New York City with their five children. Through their involvement with the Devils Youth Foundation and the Sixers Youth Foundation, they invest in organizations that positively impact community and youth development. They also established the Blitzer Family Foundation which further supports those goals and other philanthropic organizations.
David graduated magna cum laude from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. He currently serves on the Board of Trustees for the U.S. Olympic and Paralympic Foundation (USOPF), and the Boards of DREAM, the Riverdale Country School, the Advisory Board of the Mount Sinai Surgical Department, the Wharton Executive Board of Advisors, and the Board of Trustees at University of Pennsylvania.
